3M: Young Scientist Challenge
Students in grades 5-8 submit a 1-2 minute video in which they describe a new invention or solution that could solve or impact an everyday problem that directly affects them, their families, their communities, and/or the global population. At the end of the competition, "America's Top Young Scientist" will be awarded $25,000 and a one-of-a-kind 2 day/1 night destination trip. Runners-up and other finalists will receive exciting prizes including cash, trips, and participation in a unique summer mentorship with a 3M scientist.

Academy of American Poets: National Poetry Month Poster Contest
The Academy of American Poets, the originator and organizer of National Poetry Month, invites students living in the United States, U.S. Territories, or Tribal Nations who are in grades 9 through 12 to enter artwork to be considered for the National Poetry Month poster. The winning student's artwork will be printed on 100,000+ copies of the official poster, which will be distributed and viewed by millions of people nationwide. The winning student will be featured on Poets.org and in American Poets, and will receive $1,000 in cash and prizes. The runner-up will receive $250.

Action for Nature: Eco-Hero Awards
Action for Nature honors young "Eco-Heroes" ages 8 to 16 who have completed a substantial project to help sustain the environment on which all life depends. Youth from countries around the globe are invited to send in their stories and explain their work. Then a panel of judges including experts in environmental science, biology, and education determines the year's top achievers. Winners are divided into two groups, age 8-14 and age 15-16. Each Eco-Hero award winner receives a cash prize of up to $500, a certificate of achievement, media coverage, and exclusive access to the Eco-Hero Alumni Facebook Group.

Adroit Prizes for Poetry and Prose
An annual writing contest for high school and college students. Students in any country may submit up to six poems up to six poems (maximum of ten pages single-spaced) and/or up to three works of prose (combined word limit of 3,500 words) for consideration. Excerpts of longer works also are acceptable. Winners will be awarded $200, and their work (along with the work of runners-up) be featured in the Adroit Journal. (There is a $15 submission fee which may be waived for students who require financial assistance.)

Advantage Testing Foundation: Math Prize for Girls
The Advantage Testing Foundation Math Prize for Girls is the largest math prize in the world for girls. Each fall at MIT, nearly 300 young female mathematicians compete in our challenging test of mathematical creativity and insight. To compete, you must: (1) be in 11th grade or below; (2) have taken an exam administered by the American Math Competitions the AMC 10 (for 10th graders and below) and the AMC 12 (for 12th graders and below); and (3) be present at MIT (in Cambridge, Massachusetts) for the competition. The Math Prize for Girls awards $50,000 in monetary prizes, including a $25,000 prize for first place. In addition to these prizes, we will award Honorable Mention trophies to 25 other top performers. Students who receive an Honorable Mention award or better will receive $250 merit scholarships to the Canada/USA MathCamp summer program, provided their applications are accepted.
